Why thewmatt.com? /thü-matt/

In choosing my URL for this site I was unable to simply use my last name, as it belongs to a clamp manufacturer. Needless to say I was quite bummed. My last name isn't all that easy to spell in the first place, so really any variation on "wetzler.com" I chose would not only be fairly long, but also not easily remembered. My solution was to fall back on a practice known as "Thewology" developed by my close friend Michael Chozick and myself many years ago.

Thewology is the study of referring to the latter half of a noun in reference to it, rather than the leading half, in words with a commonly used frontal nickname. It all started back in days when civil rights was a really big issue. Everyone wanted equal rights regardless of their race, religion, sex, etc. but that wasn't enough for us. We felt sorry for the poor nicknames. The poor neglected second halves which are always being forgotten about. It simply isn't right. How would you feel if you were the left out part of a name? That is when the practice of thewology began. The world hasn't been the same since. We have made those poor neglected mistreated second halves come into use and feel as wanted as their often used counterparts. We now ask other people all over the world to practice Thewology, and annihilate all the rejection and mistreatment which exists in our society. We are not telling you to eliminate the first parts of words, but please, please consider how the second parts of words feel.
